Thread: solenoids going bezerk!!!!

i'm at my whits end for the past 4 days the car hits lift then under full throttle falls outta lift @ 7k then cuts back in @ 7.5k when i shift then once in lift it starts going in and out and its driving me bananas,(it doesnt act up if i go 50-60% throttle it goes through to limiter)

i've been using the granatelli window switch since 09' no issues ever, since the problem occurred monday i changed it to another unit problem still there, changed the relays changed the solenoids issue still there, dont know what else to check

i would just reinstall the whole window switch system all over again with new wires n such. probably get me new window switch out of the box. but seems to be like the module isnt getting the right tacho signal

Where are you pulling the signal from?

Yes -- this could be the issue. Are you pulling the signal from the distributor or the ECU?

You should be pulling from the ecu only.

according to the granatelli wiring diagram, the rpm signal needs to be 6v or greater so i'm taking it from the ecu driving injector #4, however i have the tach signal from the distributor for the external tach, the wires from the solenoid and the tach signal are taped together going into the car do you think there is any feedback or interference from the wire for the tach signal?

and check your oil pressure... if its not an electrical issue

You should be using the tach signal from the ecu to drive the window switch for the VVL.

Who has done a test to say that the ECU signal hits harder with VVL vs having it wired to the distributor? Just curious.
