Thread: Working On Gear Box With PAR For 2.3L and 2.4L VE Motors

do they come with shafts aswel since the oem shafts cant be used since the gears are part of the shaft?

The gears on the pinion shaft are pressed on as they fit in the factory FD setups which are 4.176, 4.44 and M Factory's 4.7.

The main shaft that the clutch goes on should have all the gears on it minus the 5th gear.

The 5th gear used will be factory and there are 3 options. 0.810, 0.756 and 0.733.

This looks like it will be the final product



4.176 FD 23 tires at 8000 - 8500 RPMs 2.3L VE

im gonna guess most of the 2.3 and 2.4 guys are gonna choose the 4.4 FD, seems to work well for both setups.

I am waiting for some dyno graphs from Cory to make this final.

He will be sending me his 2L dyno with 217 WHP and his 2.3L dyno with 270 WHP.

I will be putting then on a graph to calculate WHP to RPM to MPH

nice, i know cory with the kelfords was reving out to like 9800 so with that 4.4 FD, those gear options would take 4th to about 134. So depending on what cams and powerband you have, the 2.3's still might consider the 4.7 FD while the 4.4 would seem to work prefect for the 2.4's as most are reving the 2.4's to no more than around 9-9200 if im not mistaken.
