ECU Options
Im putting this here to see if anyone has some good ideas.

Im basically wanting to get the N1 remapped to lower the switch points and gain from having it properly mapped for the fuel over here, I would love to be able to use Nistune but there is no compatible ecu I can use, due to the amount of injectors and the fact nistune arent interested in building something for the N1 ecu...

Short of going standalone (Huge cost) Im pretty stuck for what to do...

Another option whether it will work or not Im unsure is to get a normal nistuned ECU use a normal 4 injector VE loom and block off the extra 4 injectors on the back of the inlet.... or again get a normal VE inlet with only the 4 injectors as standard...

I plan to go 20ve later on but I would like to get the ecu side of things sorted now so I can reep the benefits of an engine that doesnt drop off cam at every gear change

what you got people?

You are either stuck converting it to a 4 injector setup or using a stand alone unfortunately... There are so few N1's that it wouldn't really be profitable for a company to invest in... People make good power on 4 injectors which is what I would do for cost reasons. Keep the N1 intake manifold and block off the extra 4 injectors like people have been doing for years as it flows better than a sr20ve manifold. A stand alone would be superior but depends on whether or not you have the money & time for it.

There exists a board for tuning the N1 ecu but I cannot tell you where to get it.

I know it was used by an outfit called "central 20" out of japan.

Here is a pic of the board

Central 20 board arent programmable and the maps on them generally arent very good.

you can use a regular sr20 ecu and use Nismotronic and the nemu board to everything you want.
Just go to the Tunercode section in the tuning section. This is the only thing you will ever need.
Im running on my ve with ecu based vvl switching.

Try contacting Bill or Out of Sight on this forum. Bill has the N1 daughterboard but I don't know if he is still in business.

The N1 has 8 injectors and you need an ecu capable of controlling them. The regular SR20 ecu does not have enough injector drivers to do this.

In my understanding, you can use normal sr20 ecu and switch your injectors power from one rail to another one by some rpm switcher like Greddy MSS. All you have to do is to tune your fuel maps right by nistune.

The n1 engine loom is completely different to a normal 16ve loom let alone a de, so no other ecu will just plug in.

Im pretty sure I have worked out a solution anywho I just need to get some bits to see if it will work. Il be removing 4 of the Injectors.

bill uses the stock jap ve daughterboard kmb50aa, it's not n1 specific

But its not just a matter of fitting the board....
Also the N1 ecu requires different alterations than a standard VE ecu.
