sr20ve not revving properly.
I have an sr20ve in a b13. Its stock ser maf, ser ecu and ve injectors.
Car runs good and idles good but im having a problem with the rpm.

When i step on the gas..the rpm goes up slowly at around 3krpm it just spike up.

Also when i blimp the throttle the rpm doesn't respond fast, unless if i hold it a little. Any ideas what could cause this? I just did new ngk bkr6 plugs, new cap and rotor and new ngk wires.

An sr20DE doesnt have the parameters to properly control the sr20VE.
DE comes with 259injectors while the VE comes with 333injectors.

So regardless you're wasting a lot of fuel. Get a programmable ecu(calum, etc.) and have it tuned for the VE.

i understand that...but not even a de should rev like this

its a tuning issue no doubt! get it tuned u will see the difference or if you wanna know whats wrong borrow a wideband so you will see the difference in the AFR's! good luck!

It doesnt respond fast because its running rich. Rich a/f will kill throttle response period. You would be better off to put the stock de injectors back in if your going to run the stock ecu.

Also, a long shot, on my GA16DE, it would do this same thing. Low end was crap and passing 3K rpm would shoot straight up. The car and engine was completely stock. What it ended up being was a dead injector. So make sure they all work.

And yes running extremely rich will give you a nice-ish idle, but does kill low end. And we obviously know you're running rich as you're using VE injectors on the DE ECU; So its a start.

im running a de ecu on my ve swap still and i dont really have a reving issue.. try regrounding the maf, and if you are running a stainless header you are also not getting proper reading from the o2 sensor and will need to get the universal 4 wire o2 so you can properly ground it. and did you swap over coolant sensors from your de??

it has appropriate coolant sensor..the maf is already regrounded. i will look into the o2 sensor thing.

What he said, or if you have a FPR try lowering 2-3psi and see if it helps! Check the base timing too! Good Luck!
