Has to be a mechanical problem.

On a properly shimmed 184 setup I seen jumps of 18hp between cam settings.

This cannot be true. Very small changes can and will cause big impacts.

So sr20gtir when you say properly shim you mean to the exact number like .20 mm on the intake has to be that or is .17-.18 mm acceptable?

Well it is true. Also with both my 2.3 and 2.4 cam timing changes hardly affected anything other then power holding better after peak.I like how your so quick to call it and tell him it can not be true, especially when we talk from first hand experience ....

You have a 0.001-0.002"+ or - tolerance either way. If you are a bit outside of that you are fine. As long as you are not hanging the valve open with tight tolerances you are ok.

I didn't want to get specific with settings but Im talking from theoretical 0,0 to the final setting that made best power.

Cory you know what I mean.

Ok thanks I just thought maybe im doing something wrong but everything youre saying is not new to me so just reassuring myself and being open to others experience. Yes cory should know what youre talking about thats why if anyone should be able to help and point me to the right direction itll be him but we are both frustrated and confuse as to why im experience what I am therefore im just asking all these question and make myself sound like I dont know what im doing.
