like you said its either the hg or the block.

i would have went max for the hg only because they are proven.

who did your block ??

stratton.

I got the block from a local guy who had a local machine shop sleeved it. It was at 87mm.and I had another machine shop bored it to 90mm. I knew it was risky running that block cause it was done by a shop with no sr experience. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt cause if you are a good machinist it should all be the same beside theexperience with a particular engine. Because of the risk I didnt use the mazworx hg cause if the sleeved went it would be more money down the drain. I felt better about the block cause after being bore the second time to 90mm I thought if anything was gonna happen it would from torquing down the deck plate and machine work.

no one does anything for anyone.

98% of the time the manufacture will tell you to take a hike.

theres never any gurantee, thats why the big boy ve stuff only apeals to certain few.

your average nissan guy is not likely to spend 10k on the entire car including cost of the car, let alone 10k on the motor alone.

regardless of failure, they and we must be apploaded for going way out of the box.

1sentra, regardless now you know were to look. look at it like this, it could have been worse, and worse comes to worse all youll have to replace is a block and headgasket instead of other parts. your low hp deffinatly told you something was wrong. most likely at wot you were loosing compression threw the hg or threw a dropped sleeve. excess crank case pressure can kill power and or a motor. ask me how i know.

let us know what you find once you dig into her.

Me too either you like it or hate it. I knew what I was dealing with about cometic and the sleeves. Being the open and honest person I am I gave both the benefit of the doubt. I spoke to a good friend of mine about cometic( honda guy) and he said he was advise to use oem hg then cometic.

It wasn't mixing on the dyno.I don't think it was the cause of low whp. Shame non the less. I've had issues with cosmetic also in the past. So hopefully that's the issue

ive used a cometic h/g once, it didnt seat well and it ended up blowing out. second time around it was fine though.

when it comes to big bore its maz or nothing. 87 and smaller id stick with oem metal ve/t gaskets.

i would bet it was.

it takes a certain ammount of time for signs to show up depending on how bad it is or was. over time h/g issues only get worse.

So depend on what it is, my setup gonna show and prove 87 or smaller oem vet hasket big bore maz hg.
Best of the best oem vet hg bore to suit your piston size. Can we agree on that?
