I know btcc were 86. I'm referring to local touring car series. The reason why I know this is because the guy who builds motors for us here used to be one of the guys who built the motors for the local touring car and production car series.

Anyways, getting a bit off topic, but the point is its entirely possible to go 88mm on the stock block.

I believe the touring cars used an 88mm bore and a shorter stroke, here is a link describing some details, I will keep looking for more official info on the engine setup. I know I read more about it somewhere but I can't find it. Hopefully someone else can find what I can't.

yes, from what i read its 88mm on the stock sleeve.

i know a few people who have gone87 n 87.5 and made 400wheel or so if not higher.

88 with out posative pressure is fineeeeeee.

can you explain positive pressure? lol Negative pressure would be vacuum...

sure its fine...but for how long and under what conditions....thats whats important...

most people think you just build an engine...break it in...dyno it so you can post results and boom!! thats a solid build and a bible to go by....

truth in engineering is reliabilty and durability..

a street car or garage/dyno queen....sure....it'll be fine for years

A race car that sees adverse conditions and is pushed to high hell like Mike's? How many sessions?

theres the difference that defines what is "fine"

Race motors, particularly road race ones sink sleeves. I am not sure if 88mm bore is safe on stock sleeves, no one has really done it.
