Thread: *gauges which kind are these

i am looking to see if they make any like the new cars have. the ones that when u turn them on that go to max setting and then come back down to normal level. i have see the new ford cars and i think new wrx have those.

No you own a Sentra. Sentra owners don't like to spend money so the aftermarket for them is really small. You can buy Defi gauges and make a custom cluster if you want something like that. Prob cost around a grand unless you fab it yourself then it might be a little cheaper. The gauges are going to break your back tho lol.

You know the gauges that do that are not the gauges themselves doing it right? A lot of new cars have that feature. Chevy vehicles do it as well. Its controlled either off the ecu, body control module, or the cluster itself which now a days is basicly its own computer. It does a guage sweep test to detect proper operation of the gauge. Its not a function of the gauge itself.

Now i dont know if some of the new fancy gauges have a built in test every power on like that and it wouldnt be something that is hard to program into the gauge iteself. My AEM digital gauges do a self test sweep during initial powerups id imagine the new analog gauges probably do the same as well.

But again the Defi and AEM gauges are two of the more expensive gauge sets out there and most sentra owners are not gonna spend money on pointless gauges.

Ohh wait I forgot about Stri crap gauges. I don't think they have a big tach and spedo tho like Defi.

yea i was looking at auto meter and i didnt see any i will check out those other ones mentioned maybe ill just hurry and get my vvl switch instead.
