They are fine. I picked up a DE hotshot header for 30 bucks. It had a crack between two of the primaries so I took it to a welding shop. Cost me 20 bucks to fix and it has been fine for the last seven months.

Get a VE exhaust mani gasket from greg V @ G Spec Performance and use it as a template to port match the ports. A dremel will be fine. Then you can elongate the bolt holes in the flange to bring the header to sit 1/8 to 1/4 inch higher to match the ex. ports on the VE block. Andreas Miko did a write-up about how to do this. It is kicking around somewhere.

This will be fine on the VE engine. not ideal but fine until you inevitably go custom or some other VE spec'd mani.

Next step....custom!

If you can get someone to make you a custom 4-1 header for 300 bucks minus the flange, that's a good deal. Do stainless steel though, ofcourse. There is tons of info on this and the old forum about custom VE header specs. This is my next step as well. I want to do a long primary 4-1 sometime over the next few months.

Man, that's real nice. This is the authentic HOTSHOT header, they don't make these anymore and the company is out of business.
