Thread: sr20ve rich idle only when warm.

stil haven't got the bin burned but i'm starting to think it's really the maf. at low speeds SOMETIMES it starts bucking. annoyying as hell. i drive mostly highway but when i put-put around town at low speeds i notice it more.

I think i need the bin but the maf is going all the way out too?

so anyone reading this remember that. i did that to try and find why when i touched the harness the idle changed. I didn't find the broken wire where i touched it. so i put it back together. today i noticed it does it again. so i think i need to go looking in the harness again.

Yeh sounds like maybe you've got an issue compounding the problem, it certainly shouldn't be that hard to drive at low rpm/low throttle. Hopefully you can get it sorted out.

that's what i think too. gonna have to pull that part of the harness atleast and check each wire. that's gonna suck. the idle only changes when i touch the wires on the engine bay side of the firewall. i can move the ecu and tug on the wires on the cabin side and have no change. ugh.

well i pulled the whole harness out and couldn't find the bad spot got really close though idk when you touch the harness it doesn't do it any more though

but i did find a thread on skylines about the maf being repaired. tried that as i'm still waiting on my new tune to come in. seemed like it helped. here is the info:

long story short you may be able to fix your n60 n62 z32 and so on mafs instead of buying a new one.

edit: idle just tanked back to 11.5 again . oh well it was worth a try. need to get my tune!!!!!!!!!!

Edit!!!!! this did Work! The car has no more bucking at low throttle or anything! and i tried a bin with the maf enrichment trigger lower and that took away the rich idle condition! Now i just need to figure out why the bin i'm using for lower enrichment trigger is so lean.

it's all fixed! thanks cozzmo! you got the ball rolling and my head thinkin to get this done! the rich condition is gone and i have a way better tune now! Car is damn quick for stock cams! here's the bin.
