all the info you need, basically with a stainless header you need this o2 sensor for everything to work as it should.

Ohh I see, yeah that makes sense. Thanks, and hope you figure out your issue!

It won't matter what shape the maf is in i don't think, its just how much air the motor is using at idle. I don't know why more people don't have this problem to be honest?? Maybe they do but they bump the idle up to sort it or something? The unit i have on my car is in extremely good condition. Even after cleaning it with the right spray stuff it made no difference to the voltage it produced.

This new file will allow the maf voltage to drop to 0.900v before the issue will occurr, which during normal operation shouldn't really happen. VE ECUs have this threshold set a lot lower by default because the SR20VE has such a low idle speed set from the factory (750 odd rpm i think it was) that it would constant be below 0.9v at idle!

thanks. you have been a major help!

found a vacuum leak right at the throttle body. the clamp was loose. runs a lil better but the problem still there. i have someone to burn the bin for me and i'll have a new maf in 2 weeks.

But question shouldn't the enrichment trigger be lower like .8 or something?

I have mine set at 0.940 and its perfect now. Never touches that level, i set yours a little lower, just in case. If it doesn't work at 0.900 i'll pay you the cost in gas money + whatever it costs to have the chips burned and i'll redo it to whatever voltage you want.

cool! just a thought. i read some more info on this. this is right on the edge of my understanding. lol.

gotta wait til next pay to buy a new maf and a pay for the chip reburn, but checked the o2 sensor since i wanna run a 15727. And it is contaminated with silicon? atleast that's what i read online. it's white as snow. the tip that is.

update:
has 12 Air flow Meter/circuit open or shorted code on the ecu.

The code is generated because your AFM voltage has gone so low (not 'just' below the threshold, obviously quite a bit lower when it was doing the stumble and erratic idle).

Reset it and see that it doesn't come back even before you get the chips burned, check the code periodically, allow the car to idle rich, then check the code immediately after, likely to come back after that event.

EDIT: Did you notice how many starts since the code was logged? was it a long time ago (like 20 starts) or recently? could it have been logged when trying to diagnose the issues by having the AFM unplugged and running the car?
