i.e. can I re-use my CP pistons and rings once I've removed them from the block if I just hone the block? They've done about 2000miles total through 2 builds, in 2 different blocks. Or should I just go with new rings?

you can re use those. just check the ring end gap and piston to wall clearance/out of round and you should be fine.

I did SR16 pistons with fresh oem rings. No honing since the walls looked clean with no scratches and the factory hatch marks were visable. We compression tested one day and it pegged the tester on each cylinder.

BTW, I just ran Rotella 10w-30 for the first 1,500 miles or so.

I'd definitely hone it a bit just to break the glaze and make sure the rings seat.

+1.

Go overbore even 1mm makes a diff.

N1 pistons are what 11:5:1 c/r. Go 13:1 or 12:5:1. The power diff is big in the allmotor game.

Stratton.

i dont think i can afford to go bigger Right now, but i do have plans for that its just going to take time

the n1's from what i read should be 12.5-1 to 12.8-1 using a vet gasket.. not to mention the coating on them an stuff which is nice

Where you gonna get a VET gasket?

Looks like you came back to earth a bit. I think this is a good little project that will be low-buck low risk and make you happy.
