I JUST had an issue like this. I was leaning towards the fuel pump (which is stock with 181k on it) and a clogged cat. It ended up being the wire that goes to the coil broke. I'm guessing the solder snapped and poof, died. So I'd look into that as well. That could be an easier fix than getting chips reburned.

Check or ignitor.. Check for any Cut/Spliced wires or probably the ignitor itself..! Might have gone bad 1 day to the next.

Finally had time to mess with the car... Was getting NO spark. Turns out there was a bad connection post ignitor, pre coil due to a previously wired in butt connector (rrrrrr) where the ignition wire was tied into the MSD switch... I cut the connector off and rewired/soldered in a new one and reconnected the tie in correctly w/ solder, shrink wrap, and then elec tape. All is good... While I was in there I replaced my distributor rotor and cap. Bang Bang! VVL Poppin again.

thats where my msd is spliced in and i keep thinkin i should hard wire it in. you think that better then the clip on attachment? then the msd wires would have to be cut if you took it out.
