right there you just proved that you know nothing about engines. jesus....

of course there isnt a "bearing" but there is a very specific tolerance that needs to be between the cam and head. which any normal person would call that the cam bearing or cam journals. if you starve the head for oil and get to big of a clearance you will have terrible oil pressure.

how about you stop trying to call me out. all you are doing is proving you are a retard. maybe try to help the OP like i have been...

...just stop... you're not helping anyone out here. FYI don't say bearing when you mean clearance... a bearing is an actual object, a clearance is a measurement. You're the idiot. You've proven yourself 3 times already. I think I am done with you.

Ok so looks like there was no gasket/o-ring between the oil pikup tube and the pump. Just a bit of RTV silicone. Could this be the cause of the failure? Is there meant to be a gasket in there? Bear in mind the motor ran fine for about 2000km before this happened.

No 3 main bearing went, and then no 3 big end.

Possibly, could have lead to low oil pressure, wich, over time starved the bearing.

The 0 ring should deff be there.

Stratton.

^^ this is what I'm thinking now as well.

I see there is a metal gasket that's supposed to go there. Not sure how mine got lost.

Does the pickup and gasket differ between VE's and DE's? I have forgotton what a DE pickup looks like.
