Gt32 a/r 70 w/ a .83backend...to big for vvl?
Like title says, i have a good deal on this garrett turbo but im afraid it may be to big to where i will run into lag issues. DET bottem end w/ a vvl head up top stock head guts. im afraid i wont see boost until late rpms....what do u all think?

You looking for over 500whp? The GT32 is a good turbo for that power level. But they are small :P

just checking cause this will be my 1st turbo outside of a bottom mount setup. i was told this turbo would have much lag and boost kinda in the late rpms due to the size of the comp. housing and backside sizes. i know the head will make up for that but im not sure how much making up it can do. 500 would be nice but when its all said and done im sure ill be looking at 380-400....

well what do you consider late rpms? Who told you that it would have a lot of lag? did they have a setup similiar to yours on a motor like yours? What manifold will you be using that effects spool time as well.

im ganna be running a log mani (i know i know so no flame pls lol). i consider 5k or later on the late rpm side. my buddy is runing a sc52 on a DET longblock and he feels he has lag even with a .63 back end which is smaller then mine. he is pretty knowledgable on this stuff so that were i got my intell from thus far

log manis are fine on ve's in my opinion and have seen them make good power on cheap setups. i would think you would be hitting boost in the 4k range but thats just what i have seen. of course you are going to have lag but thats not a bad thing on the street

A friend of mine has a very similar sized turbo on his ve/de. At 4.5k power comes in like a wall of bricks. Good setup though not alot of wheelspin until the power comes in. Car still needs to get tuned but I like it so far.
