Need help identifying something
What would you say what motor this is, by looking at this pic?

EDIT: I have resized the pic in my Photobucket account to a smaller version, but it still shows up big here, so I'll just post the link.

Well it has oil squirters so its either a det or ve. If you could tell weather it had a girdle or not then you could tell between the two.. although the vet might have a girdle

its a ve being it doesnt have a girdle. If your asking about what year ve then i believe that is found on the head markings.

Right. To tell you the truth, it's my SR16VE turned SR20VE, using a DE crank and rods. Or so I've been told.

The thing I'm confused about, is that it has the oil squirters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to the Nissan Sport Compacts book (written by Sarah Forst), only the GTI-R DET and the SR16VE N1 had them. Or do the SR20VE and regular 16VE have them too?

About the girdle, according to that same book, the 20V VE DID have a girdle, as well as an 8 CW crank.

Anyhoo, the final question remains: Does, or does not (there is no try :P) the regular 16VE have oil squirters?

ugh,

all ve's had oil squirters.

my 20ve had it, 16ve's have it. 20v ve's have it, vet's have it and so on. All of them. As well as all dets and gtir's.

The 20v VE does come with an 8 counterweight crank and girdle if im not mistaken.

I was gonna say det cuz of the oil squirters and 8cw crank. But that makes sense too the DE crank explains the 8cw's.
