It's like getting info from someone like Ferrari.
All they will share would be displacement, which for the class they competing is 2.0
This engine build has been in the making for the last 8 years. Hours and hours of development.
Cams the last time I spoke to him would be a one off with his own specs, manufactured by Franklin Cams.
The first VE that became available in NZ was bought by Reg Cook. Cyl head was sawn open to study the port internals, wall thickness etc. Nothing you will see will resemble a VE head. Main objective was use the best available cyl head in the SR family with the best flow characteristics mated with the best available valve train to make power only on the top end of the scale.
Not bad for a small time semi privateer!!!

The 171 MPH is impressive.

The previous record of 158 was not impressive at all.

The white NX2000 that I owned and sold to my friend Jonathon with a SR20VE, N1 cams, 3inch exhaust did 144 MPH at Mile Marker 1. We did that in 4th gear at 8000 RPMs when we passed the 1 mile mark. Thats from a dead stop to 1 miles guys

The tires that were on the car were 215/40/17s and were running 94-96 G20T gear box.

The NX2000 being so aerodynamic is the trick.

I have had my SER clocked at 157 MPH and that shit is a box, Thats all it will do.

To put that in perspective Standing mile

My SER did 137 MPH form 0 to 1 Mile ( SER gear box ) 205/40/17 in 5th gear

My Previously owned NX2000 did 144 from 0 to 1 mile. (G20T hear box ) 215/40/17 in 4th gear

Also my SER is way faster than the NX2000 to the 1/4 mile, its not even close but after that the aerodynamics is the killer.

is it a sr20ve?

being such a sr20 guy and a nx guy at that im so curious of what could be done to it.

but then agian its no stretch of the imagination, has to be very high compression, lots and lots of head work, custom cams like stated, lots of other goodies and tricks, fully spec'd and tuned header and the right gears and final drive.

keep it up guys !!

It is now 180MPH and hoping with the longer run sometime today to better that mark

Sounded great at high rpm. I wouldn't be surprised if something powered with a Honda K motor rises up to challenge.

Reg Cook just laid the smack down on the SR20 universe, imho.

Those speeds are insanely awesome. The front bumper on that car looks great to be aerodynamic.

believe it or not, that earodynamic front bumper actually made the car go slower, so they reverted back to the original bumper, thats when they pulled a 180mph run at 9975rpm,
now the challenge is to see if you guys in your home country can better this !!!!!
