Ya, unfortunately it is my daily driver, which really sucks, but it is parked right now anyway and I am renting or car-pooling. I definitely need to get the Calum ECU in there but unfortunately I spent too may thousands on this car since February so it has to wait. I can't figure how it went from running decent to like crap just from changing the rail. Hopefully I'll have time after work tomorrow to haul everything apart and see where the problem is. Now I have a multi-cylinder misfire now too so I may have to rip the whole thing apart who knows. All I know is I can't drive it right now. I need to at least get it back to how it was running a few days ago and then hope in 2 or 3 weeks I'll have the Calum in. But I'm wondering if there is something else wrong with it now.`

Since you're using the rr ecu. Do you have stepdown harness? How are you gonna connect the calum ecu? Btw you should just put everything in your build thread instead of having separate threads. It will make it easier to follow along.

Step-down harness is my next purchase. Although I may have to make one, or like Vadim suggested and find a P10 engine harness and swap it for my B15 harness. There was a guy who had a step-down 15-->14 by me but he didn't want to sell it without me buying his ECU which I don't need.

I will have my step down harness for sale eventually when I get my car back. The p10/b14 harness might be a better idea than a stepdown harness. I'm having someone swap my b15 connectorfor a b14 connector so I can connect the harness directly into my p10 ecu and put it back into my firewall. Keep in mind that if you use a stepdown harness you can't put it in your firewall.

I think the B14/P10 seems like a much cheaper option right now. I originally wanted a step-down so I didn't have to cut into my B15 harness but I don't care as much now. I also thought about getting a B14 plug, removing my B15 plug from my engine harness and soldering in the B14 plug for a direct ECU fit. This may even be a better idea.

I've seen pics of some of the B15 VE guys with there ECU's in the passenger compartment, not ideal that's for sure. If this wasn't a daily everything would be so much easier. Unfortunately all the money I've spent on this car has kept me from getting my second vehicle..oh well I guess.

I am going to check the injectors now and swap over the DE FPR and flash the ECU and hope it helps. I am also dropping off my car at a shop tomorrow to have a full diagnostic done on it while I am at work. If everything checks out mechanically, I can get to putting in the ECU and hope that everything works itself out with a good tune. If it doesn't I will be paying a visit to the guy who sold me the motor and did the original swap and left me with a coolant leaking, oil leaking, misfiring, barely running vehicle!! Too many problems arise when other people don't give a shit about your car and don't bother to do things in a proper and responsible manner. Live and let learn!!

Okay, I'm done talking now.

Yes sir. For the first time in 5 months I now have an engine that runs, almost, like it is suposed to! I am the happiest I have been in months!

P0300 - Multi-cylinder misfire (last couple of days) --> GONE
P0302 - Cylinder #2 misfire --> GONE
Shaking engine --> GONE
Sputtering noise from tailpipe --> GONE
Massive vacuum leak --> GONE

When I put the proper fuel rail in two days ago I figured my car would run better but it ran way worse and was stalling and everything. The reason.....

So despite being careful when I put these DE injectors in my VE rail and using a bit of oil on the o-rings, I still had to force them a bit and this was the result of me being a dumbass. Also the DE injectors are shaped differently than the VE injectors so they don't go into the rail as well.

So I put the bigger VE injectors in, adjusted some stuff, re-flashed the ECU, started the car and....holy shit it ran great and all of the above mentioned problems are gone.

It is incredible, I didn't even realize how massive of a vacuum leak there was using my modified DE fuel rail. It's like I have a different car, it is sooooo much faster and sounds better and even with the bigger injectors on the DE ECU, the backfire is almost gone. Heck I don't even have the VVL hooked up yet. But now that the misfire issue has been solved I will soon be experiencing VVL , albeit only to 6800 RPM, for now...

Thank-you everyone for the help and thanks to forum member Chriscar for recommending I use Vaseline on the lower o-rings to protect them. Worked like a charm!!

Did a few more things to the engine today. Had the timing checked as well, the last guy to touch the timing was told, by me, to set it at 17 or 18*. It was set at 10*. 10* running a VE on a RR ECU = no good. Now set at 18* and with the problems I fixed last night, it's like I have a new car! Next, wire up the VVL!
