Bought everything but the lines to do it but decided I can't have 4 cars so I am trying to sell those parts and get rid of my B13

Same except I have my old '96 G20 with 120K on it and perfect black leather interior in it to get running and then I can start working on my S13

ok so with a remote mount and oil cooler installed are you ever able to get rid of all the old oil when doing an oil change? Seems like a lot of oil will remain in the cooler and the lines.

Completed my oil cooler installation. Here are some pics for those who may wanna do this mod.

Blank off plate - mounts in the original filer location:

remote mounted filter:

final view:

Oil cooler fits nicely on the valence in front of the radiator

Cooler mounted on the front valence. With the radiator removed. (excuse the dirty engine bay)

Some mesh for added protection from stones:

Cooler mounted - view from above

This picture shows the routing of the hoses clearly. Initially the shop only had these hoses in stock, but i couldn't stomach them so had them redone in black at another shop later.

Notice how much bigger the new filter is compared to the stock VE filter. The old filter holds about 275ml oil. The new one is nearly 500ml. Also has more holes for the oil to enter and still has a non-return valve.

Noticed oil temps dropped from around 120 deg (highway cruising) to around 105-110deg.

Driving around town around 100deg.

Spirited driving with a few 8krpm pulls 120deg max.

Overall I'm happy .....NOW......but it was very frustrating getting rid of oil leaks after initial installation.

Where do you have the temp prob mounted? looks like the kit from gspec?

There are two fittings to mount temp/pressure probes on the bottom of the oil filter housing (not visable in the pics), but I have a bung welded into the sump to measure the temp right in the sump. Figure it's more accurate measuring the temps of the oil that's about to "work". My pressure probe is mounted in the oem pressure location.

I bought the relocation kit from a local company that imports them I presume. Don't see any branding on it, but it has the double o-rings on the blank off adaptor.
Bought the cooler and fittings seperate and had the pipes made up to size at a hydraulics shop.

Looks good, only thing I'd want is a thermostat if ever driving in colder conditions oil wont get up to proper temp.
