Need help wiring my VVL!
So for those that used the granatelli dual window switch. Did anyone use three prong relays? If so, can you please show or tell me which prongs to wire to the controller to? I'm a bit confused...

No matter what the instruction sheet says follow this color code info

Wire colors:

Red 12V
Black Gnd
Green TPS
Blue and Purple / Solenoids
Orange / Tach output
White / Low voltage rpm input
Yellow / High voltage rpm Input (try this first)

Do you have 5 prong relays? It's a piece of cake and I can help you out

Granatelli sends a negative pulse of 5volts so you are gonna feed the coil inside the relay straight from 12v and granatelli's blue/purple wires to the end of the coil.

Make sure you ground both solenoids to negative, you will be feeding +12V from the relay, if you are using an automotive relay I could even tell you wich and where pin to wire

Here's a quick explanation

85 +12v
86 blue or purple fron Granatelli (-5v)
30 +12v
87 out, connect to solenoid

And then just ground to the block both solenoids and run an individual cable to each solenoide, remember that even when the Granatelli sends a negative pulse you will supply a positive 12v to the solenoids.

Granatelli has a TPS feature, I recommend you to stay away because if you are not WOT the solenoids will be disabled and you don't want to hit low lobes at 8000RPM

Should the granatelli be on the end of the switch or on the coil side is my question. Because on a 3 prong (i.e. your horn relay) 30 and 85 share the +12v and 86 completes the coil. 87 activates after the switch has closed. Just double checking!

In that case yes, the blue or purple negative 5- completes the switch (coil)

it seems like the unit isnt picking up the RPM signal, we have checked and rechecked wiring

We tapped the blue with black trace wire from the ecu (pin 2) and still no signal from the yellow or white wire. Really could use some help here. I'm 95% sure the wiring is correct, just something is impeding the tach signal. This in on a 93 NX2K BTW

Alright which wire(s) off the dizzy or the coil can I get an rpm signal from? I used the B13 dizzy and coil. And what wire (from the granatelli should I use?)
