vvl alternator problem...
i need a new alt for my vvl and (prolly gonna get flamed for this but) i was wondering if the de and ve alts are the same...i've got one from my RR sr20de and was wondering if it will work or not? if not can i just go grab a se-r alt from the parts store?

lol yeah i just didn't want to go through putting it all on and its not the right voltage or amps... makes it even better that the southeast bbq is this weekend...damnit...

That's the only differences, physically the are the same.

The only thing that won't fit would be an aftermarket pulley such as the obx one i have. You have to remove some material from where the armature exits the casing. The aftermarket pulley will actually sit on this and will not turn once it is fastened all the way. I have pics just have to find them.

Ok humour me but what difference does the different amps make in terms of the system?

Does a higher amp alternator require more/less charging time or what exactly does it do differently compared to a lower amp alternator? Does one put more strain on the system or motor than another?
