D@mn. For that kinda money you can buy a dyno for the price of 20 tunes....

I'm gonna quit my career and go run a dyno ship in Germany...

You have to pay to play. I am not saying that $1500 is good. That guy is fucking crazy but, if one has to pay $500 or so on a tune that isn't much.

What bothers me is that some people spend thousands of dollars on building a car then skimp out on the tuning. Hell that's the most important part IMHO. When I finish my car I am flying up my tuner from FL to OH + whatever he charges me + dyno time. It's all part of the game.

It would blow your mind to know what big name tuners charge. Hell if you drop $20k on a build what's another $1k + on tuning?

I don't trust anyone else. He has been the only person since day one to tune my car. If I keep it that way I will be 100% confident everytime I drive my car.

ive paid the same for the same here in the UK, HLM's dynojet. the chap there was not very old skool and was dead set on the fact that the ecu would revert the base timing to 15*

No. read some about him and Fluid Motorsports though.
i've made some significant changes to the ign. map and completely eliminated the detonation. some areas of the map have more than 20* less timing than the original Calum VE bin. it's lost a little of the light-medium throttle pep it had earlier but thats ok, and SAFE!

Again you could have gone about that three ways. Remove tons of timing, richen up the fuel, or do a little of both. You can probably get back a lot of your pep on the low to mid range by adding back some timing and richening up the fuel.

Richening up the fuel makes a huge difference on getting rid of knock. Not only that you will usually make a bit more power as well.

Glad you got it driving good though. Thats always a good thing. Now you can play with it in your free time and try some stuff out to make the most you can and know where the limits are.
