car hasnt run since sunday. just been sitting. once it started it went maybe 10 miles. thats it.

Get some ACL standard race bearings and throw em in. When you take the rods off the crank just make sure you clean the crank surface really well to make sure there is no dirt or metal flakes. Also if you can check the oiling hole on the crank for any metallic buildup that came off the bearing and try to clean it out with some brake cleaner. Use assembly lube when doing the bearings Spray the rod upper and lower halves where the bearings go with brake clean and wipe them dry and install the bearings dry. Lube the bearings with assembly lube that touch the crank, install cap back on the same way it came off. rod# to the back of the block. Torque to specs.

Pretty simple job to do especially on a VE. You dont have a big girdle in the way. lol. Much much more access to the bearings. They can be a pain on the de/det's just because little room to get your hand up in there.
