Was completely logged with oil as it had turned black. Funny thing is the wood was still solid as a a rock. Mobil user for life now!

Lol I guess our SR20 motors are tough cookies. I find it unbelievable that the timing chain didn't skip a tooth or break or even show signs of wear. You can even see where the wood is worn in a perfect line in the middle, where it was riding the timing chain. Kinda like a chain-saw.

Oh, so you guys recognize these pieces. Yes, they are part of a rare JDM tensioner kit. Made in the top-secret Nissan proving grounds up in the Japanese mountains! I am considering selling the kit for $100. Easy to use and when you are done swapping your cams you can store the kit in your cylinder head for safe-keeping so you don't lose it!

Looks like pine, smells like Mobil. Might have it bronzed and hang it from my rear-view mirror.

Very cryptic. So much so that I don't get it.

Lol. I was definitely expecting some sludge with the way it was running. Let's just say I invented a few never before heard expletives when I opened her up and saw that.

Sit down, have a bowl of soup and think about it.

.......hold on, just starting my second bowl. I have moved from herb chicken noodle to lentil with spinach.

So far I have....the myth of the bay leaf where people thought it was harmful but it turns out that it really wasn't. And, a kiss is not necessarily a kiss. Am I on the right track or maybe I'm just too tired?

1MP!
We found JDM mouse bones in the intake manifold of a GTIR Motor..we could off gained 1MP (mouse power)
Good luck!

Not necessarily harmful... just a surprise to find. If it's in your soup someone gets a kiss... Maybe Ben gets the kiss because he started this Bay Leaf thing!

The real question here is, did the mouse get cooked and turn into bones or was he dead long before? LOL

Okay, that's kinda what I thought, guess I was on the right track. Thanks for playing along.

Ben should get the kiss but errr I can't help out in that department.
But I can give him a big thumbs up for being witty!!

Hopefully this was just a "bay leaf" thing and my timing chain doesn't mysteriously break down the road. Knock on wood...and coincidentally i have a piece!

Sorry for being late. Yah, in Italian cooking the tradition is, the person who gets the bay leaf in their serving of spaghetti sauce gets to kiss the cook. Also done for soups I guess. =D
Apparently there isn't a whole lot on the Internet about this tradition, but I assure you it is alive and well.
