From what we've seen locally the stock VVL cast manifold wtih a decent aftermarket or custom downpipe (2x2.25") yields just about the same results as any budget or off the shelf vvl header out there.

Am I crazy or did someone like Hotshot make a downpipe for stock VE manifolds at one point?

Protech made/makes one for the 20V primaries. Hotshot did make one for the stock VE primaries, it was a limited run before the gen6 came out. Don't remember seeing dyno results but I do remember hearing SOTP it felt quite a bit better than the obx it replaced.

Yeah thats what I thought. If I could dig one of those up I could run it with my stock VE primary and not have to worry about messing around with a ebay header to line up properly.

Its not a problem with ports on ebay header... but stock VE header with modified VE secondary to 2.5" downpipe or so are about the same results. Both work ok for the money...

Buy a 2'5 inch ssac header and be done man.

Ull loose way more power with oem primeries and a ft dp vs. a ebay special with the ports off a bit. Your thinking a bit to much into this.

Stratton.

I had the 20V then the stock VE. I went from 192 to 186 hp same dyno. Nothing fancy om my set up N1s, pulleys and calum ecu. Most local guys running the SSAC are putting down 170's. So I think you will do better with the stock VE ex mani. The problem is to find someone to make the secondary for you. I used the stock 16VE secondary and modified it to fit my 2.5 inch exhaust.

I've heard this a few times about the stock VE manifold. Some of the guys from the southern insist that the Fujitsubo header is a copy of the stockers made in steel with a matched secondary. YMMV.
