Thread: MZX 4-1 stepped header install

You building headers now??

My thoughts exactly.

Let's see if I can answer everybody's questions:

-Off course header and whole setup will be tune at dyno soon.
-I was told "stepped header" since Mazworx fabricated 'em without any O2 bung, this one has 2 (upper/lower) to get A/F real time tuned, and a flat thin welded portion of metal to protect it. Just correct me if I'm wrong

Now, I know you guys have a negative impression on this header, but please consider that no exhaust at all is installed yet and I'm running no intake from the TB, based on that air suction and delivery can't be optimal and engine could be limited on low RPM's. Due to that I wasn't able to rev the engine so high and also don't forget the fact of sound, which it's extremely loud by now.

Will be great if anybody can show a comparison tuned chart between any header and MZX device, that way we can all prove what's going on.

thats funny that they are calling that a stepped header. i do not have any data of how this performs on a 2.0 just larger motors...

And now you are making me doubt about what I bought however, my objective here was not to create any controversy, just looking for further steps to have in mind in case this doesn't really fill all my expectations when hit the dyno.

Will come back to you guys when tuned charts are done and numbers set, I hope to pass my humble 200whp power band goal on a stock bottom end N/A engine. Down here is not happening quite frecuently as it's all over the world Thanks again!

I don't feel like I did..as I said, power band was calculated and discussed previous to buy all bolt-ons, if I reach 200whp using what is installed now then it was worth it. thanks for your personal opinion anyway.

That header looks great hope to see some good numbers man. they look similar to fujis but the fujis are not 4-1. What grade octane are u going to use?

Hey Im a newbie here but I purchased one the these header a couple months ago. Im was running a stock sr20vvl with stock cams and 3" exhaust all the way thru( no resonator) I dyno tune before header and got 188whp then install header and got 200whp. The dyno read high so the numbers to me wasnt real but I actually saw about 10-12 whp gain.
