MZX 4-1 stepped header install
Hi there, newbie here trying to find out some inputs.

Just installed such header on my VE and tested (on streets) but noticed a torque loss (no complete exhaust installed yet) this can be just part of my adrenaline since I have several weeks without driving my baby but I read somewhere this header can also be inserted on a DE block and that's why it can go up and down from block exhaust chambers in order to get an optimal position so, my question:

-Can the chambers been blocked or not fully/smooth sending gasses thru header and this generating torque loss??

Facts to consider:
> Ported & polished SR16VE-N1 IM added w/70mm TB
> Still 3" straight exhaust pending to install
>Gspec cam gears set +3,-3 on N1 camshafts
> Dyno test still pending(never done before)...so no charts available to compare, sorry.

P.D: hope this won't be take a noob question I'm just looking to do the right things, any comment will be appreciated, thanks!

my MZX i take it you mean Mazworx right?

from what i hear those headers didnt do very well.

another thing you might consider is needing to retune for that header.

Have u notice No header is good lol unless its $1k but produces the same power as ssac. I have seen ssac headers produce the same power as fujis, asp, and other expensive headers. the only header on this site that I have seen make power was the honda tri y conversion sad but true.

I say put your stock one and dyno it than put the mazworks and dyno it than u would know if there is really a power loss. Good luck

ditch the maz header. it loses power and alot of it. it think it was in the range of 30whp loss.

alex i have and offer 4:1 stepped headers that make great power. ive sold them to bunch of locals and members, all of them have recieved gains from the header.

stratton.

Also you really should test this on a dyno. When you change a header you almost always needs to change the vvl points. Not to mention the tune.

Also Stratton. The Mazworx header looks identical to the one your pushing. Which does have a step though and probably does make a decent difference. Personally I know my older custom header killed the Mazworx one. But its never fair compairing a custom unit to one that's off the shelf.

Yea they look good stratton. But it would be good to compare on a car with dyno results ijs... here in florida I have seen I/h/e n1 cams vvl make 201-205 whp with ssac headers. While others on this forum are struggling to even make that power with custom headers(not the ones u offer)
