Stroker build questions
Bad map done and need a few questions answered

I have a 92mm stroked sr16ve engine with custom 86mm JE pistons. I have N1cams installed with HKS adjustable cam gears.

Q:1 If the cams/cam gears were dialed in incorrectly could that give me bad compression values when testing for compression? The compression is 230 psi on each cylinder and I assumed it would be alot higher, closer to 300. Cylinder head has been shaved by 1mm, what point should the N1 cams be dialed in to. + -

Q:2 On a fully built VE what viscosity oil should be used ?
I read on the SR20 forum 10w 30 for an SR20VE but I'm assuming thats a standard engine.I used to use Castrol edge 5W 30 before my build. The builders of my engine used Fuchs Silkolene Suprema 15w 50 and I went to get some oil for a service and the guy in the shop asked me what type of car I had and what work I had done. He recommended Valvolene VR1 20W 50 but I am unsure about this.

Q:3 My tuners have never tuned a VE berfore so need to get them a little info to help them tune the engine correctly.
Does anyone with a VE with 91/92mmstroker crank also using N1 cams have a
ignition timing graph and a fuelling map?
Or better yet,is there anyone out there with a built VE that has a pcl file for a Link G4 storm standalone?
Cheers

Whats the compression on the custom JE pistons? if it's close to stock then the numbers don't seem like they are wrong.

The JE pistons are 86mm with pin height adjusted for crank and they are 12:1

I think a professional tuner should be able to know where to start with the tune if not find another tuner that know what he is doing. Engines are just a giant pump ijs...

Hope to see some numbers.

I hear you Alex but I spent quite a few bucks on these guys to build the engine and tune it so I want them to do what I paid for. If they cannot tune the engine to its full potential then I will bring it somewhere else.
I am not engine savy, mores the pity so I am reliant on others to get this car running right. And its been a really long time in the making,I spent over a year ordering parts from all over and then when I had all the parts together and sent the car up to have the build done,I was told it would take 3 weeks.
They took 9 months and still havent finished the job right!
Its been at long slog and a real dissapointment so far!

could be a faulty gauge? I would think it would be higher than what it's showing now.

Dont think the reading on the compression tester was wrong as I had the compression tested with a bar compression tester and measured just over 15.8bar.
I will do another compression test today just out of interest to see if there is different.

So gents, what viscosity oil oil should be used with a built/stroked VE ? Should it be a much heavier oil like 15W 50 or 20W 50 or should it be thinner like 5W 30 or 10W 30 or 10W 40 ?

Also with the standard SR16VE head skimmed by 1mm and using N1 cams, what should the cams be dialed in to?

Thanks again for you advice
