Right now I'm using some junk Sachs OEM disc that I put in right before I Swaped to VE. Now I'm using that disc and ACT pp. I just ordered a Exedy disc and I'm gonna use the Sachs OEM pp because I'm tired of snapping cables.
Lol yea im done with the unsprung idea. I cant afford the JWT PP and this car is only my DD so Im going to see how the OEM PP holds up with the Exedy disc I ordered. If it holds up to the power of a stock VE then perfect if not then I guess Ill look into the JWT PP that feels like stock.
Get unsprung disc if you worried about springs popping. I had an unsprung Clutchmasters for a long time and it was a very good compromise between leg effort and clamping force. Its definitely a snappier engagement like an on/off switch but just fine for me with a light fly.
but I go agree with Josh. I find a lot of clutch problems come from careless install (also abuse obviously) but a good install seems to go a long way.
South bend has been brought up in the other clutch thread. And I have heard nothing but praise for their stuff on the forums over the years.
B15 disc will work for you and you can get one anywhere. Its an Exedy disc iirc. The stock pressure plate probably would not hold up to VE abuse I never tried. JWT pp seems to work great.
ACT I hear they are good with the updated design but I'd still steer clear of their sprung discs. The only thing I hea a lot of bad stuff about is JGY and also Spec (although somewhat less) With Spec some people claim it just requires a very good install. The many people with grenaded pressure plates and discs might disagree. I personally think it might have to do with Quality control.
Lubing the cable with motorcycle chain lube and installing the 99cent spacer will help too with the daily driver and for performance.
