SR16VE runing 3" exhaust, overkill?

A friend of mine is about to start a SR16VE swap in his Tsuru and he have been wondering the exhaust size, I guess 2.5" will be fine but he's getting his hands in a 3" muffler, I'd like to know if that would be overkill for the 1.6

if its just a 3" muffler thats prolly fine but i would stick with 2.5" piping that should be more then enough

2.25" - 2.5" is just enough.

- I would at least run 2.5" even if I had a completely factory bone stock DE. 2.5" FTW.

knew a few vzr that came with 60mm cat back system from japan.... think 2.5 will be more than enough.....

With as big as those cams are I'd say you would still be better of with 3in

I guess 2.5" pipes and a 3" inlet muffler will be just fine

Not overkill. 3 inch is best for a nice breathing VE head!

With the correct header design 3" exhaust will give you similar gains as of running without any exhaust
