You can get to every single bolt you need to get to from under the motor. No need to remove the intake manifold. There are two 17mm bolts going through the block one that goes through the mount bracket. Easiest way to pull the motor out is to pull it out the bottom. Drop the crossmember by removing the 14mm bolt w/ nut up front, 14mm bolt on the rear mount and 4 14mm bolts holding the crossmember up. leave the engine and trans mount connected, put a little cart or something under the motor drop the car down and unbolt the rest of the motor and lower it with the cherry picker onto the cart or whatever. Then raise the car up higher than the motor. and pull the whole assembly out. Just make sure you disconnect everything.

There are 3 14mm bolts holding the mount bracket to the trans as well. Easier to just unbolt the mount bracket from the trans and leave it in the car. Its not hard at all.

Lol this pisses me off. I posted that at like 1am but i guess my phone had a retard atack. What josh said, just drop the bitch all together, pull out. Jack up with the engine hoist a few inches, take apart, and there ya go. Re-assamble, slide under car. Lower car, and then engine hoist it into place mount wire, axle, done. Then make wild crazy sex with your car.

See, I wanted to drop the trans and engine together. My friends, having done all Honda swaps, kept saying naw, it's cool, just the engine needs to slide out.

Thats why honda swap kids are idiots. Cars are completly different from brand to brand, what works great with one kind doesnt with others. It takes way less time to drop the motor and tranny, and then unbolt it outside of the car so if u have any difficulties its way easier to get around the bolts and shit. Let them know the nissan community laughs at them

Thats why i dont let honda guys touch my nissan stuff lol. Especially when half of them seem to think a ka24 is a better swap than a sr20 and that the ka doesnt have timing chain issues o.0 remember that idiot josh.

Well my friend called, he took off the intake mani, the rear bolts, etc. We had a really hard time reaching back there even with extensions, but at least it'll come off. Hopefully swapping IN the VE isn't too bad. I'm even buying the DAYCO hose, or whatever it's called, for the heater core that Andreas recommended. It's been a learning experience, but I pray to the NISMO Gods that it's done today. Then this week I'm getting my window switch

Hey I'm in Spokane too. Hit me if you need any help with anything. I own a shop in post falls and have been doing sr20's for 8 years. I have a bunch of parts and can help you get everything that you need and assist in the wiring of the VE.

Yeah, I have a few Honda guys helping. I'm the only Nissan fan around, barring my friend who now owns a MazdaSpeed Protege. After telling them for an hour we have to drop the tranny and all, they finally realized I was right. We're taking a break and starting from scratch... Although we practically have the DE apart by now.

it doesnt matter what "brand" guys you have around. just matters how intelligent they are and how good of mechanics they are. its all nuts and bolts. just put together slightly different. ive done swaps on both neither are THAT much different. just different orders and ways of doing things. there are many ways to swap any engine. as long as it gets done and is done right then who cares! now get that ve in and go have some fun!

Well they always, always use the break engine from transmission/lift engine out with hoist. Doesn't work well with the SR, so now we're back to square one and we're removing the transmission, etc. We have about six hours left, I hope it works. I'm just worried about wiring, I don't know if the wires all match up, or if I'll need to shorten/lengthen some.
