You could even bore the block 88mm and using a 86mm crank you will be 2092cc, the advantage of 88mm is that you don't really need sleeves

Oh come on the big bore short stroke would be so much cooler. And probably better for longevity if your road racing

See thats the way I was thinking. If the cost of the big bore is not out of this world I would prefer to go that route. Mainly because it would be unique.

Plus I could allways put a 86mm crank/rods in at a later stage if I was not happy.

Then go back to 86mm if you don't like the extra power?

Its a sr16 now so if I overbore to 90/92mm it would be 1.75 or 1.83 litres. I meant if I was not happy with the power I could put in a 86mm crank and with the cylinders that bore it would increasing the capacity to 2.2 no?

i like the 92mm idea. and rev to about 9500rpm!

issue is: how will it hold up on long journeys

Im new to this.

Is this because the cooling jackets or whatever there called are removed when you put sleeves in to overbore?

Would it over heat as it would not be a drag car. It would either be a weekend car or a trackday car at this stage.

Exactly. Great idea. You should do this. Sleeving the block and custom pistons are spendy but its worth it. My 92x86 on pump gas made 270/190...

Save yourself the time, go straight to the big bore and 86mm stroke. Power is addictive.
