I completely understand the reasonings behind tuning a car, no doubt taking the car to a dyno and using a program to see what the car is seeing and doing would make this journey alot easier. Unfortunately i have a burned chip in my ECU and not a program that would allow me to make changes, just like a JWT ecu. So.... im sure you understand that i am not looking to make XXX amount of power, but i cannot change my program, and there for going to the dyno would result in a waste of time and money. Again, i agree with you but please read what I have posted, it is just not possible for me to do so. As i posted before I am very familiar with tuning engines, im looking for answers for some of the questions that i have asked. Dont take this post the wrong way lynchfourtwenty, as more often than not, people take offence to posts aimed at them. Im not saying that you are, i just want to make it clear that this was not my intentions.

So, i do not have access to see my timing or fuel map, in the future a tunable ECU might be of importance to me, but as of not it is not. I think that a better way to look at the problem that im having might be to think of it as a DE engine rather than a VE for diagnosis purposes.

Just thought of something else to add. The peak timing would be irrelevant because of the hesitation with roll on throttle. I believe it is going to be something that the computer is going to watch for an input, and in turn execute a response because of that input. Hope that made sense.

i suggest runing some different chips or getting them reburned with another tune.. i got one that would prolly work perfect for ya..

Just throwing this out there, is it possible that your going from a boosted car to na and having boost with draws? When I went from my high HP DE to an almost stock VE I almost couldn't tell the difference. I'll be jumping on the dyno to make sure my numbers are where they should.

I also tried different chips and the dyno should tell it all....

Im coming from a stock UK DE motor to this VE, it feels better than the DE no doubt! But if this was the case, why would the car feel like there is more torque on the low cams while the car is in open loop (cold start). Well if there are anyone in the orlando area that has had their VE swap done for a while and would like to drive the car and see if its me or the car i have no problem with that.

Could be knock sensor. u would be surpRised how much power u would lose with a bad knock sensor. It would pull a lot of timing slowing the shit out of the car.

Get any kind of consult cable and do some datalogs, they will show you the timing trace across and you could easily see if knock sensor is retarding timing.

Also when you go to a dyno they usually hook up a wideband, sometimes bumping the pressure a lil bit helps

Ill try swapping knock sensors, well as long as the ve and de sensors are the same. Can anyone comferm that they are? I tried 15 degrees with no change in performance. But there is dedeffinately something going on with the car. I just rode in another b13 with a stock ve and there was no comparison, my car is offically a DOG! Ill let u know what goes on with the knock sensor. Thanks for the input everyone.

I have seen where the wiring for the knock sensor was bad, causing the same thing as a bad knock sensor - triggers the ecu to pull timing. Then, if the wiring moves and makes better contact the timing comes back. It was very noticeable. Sluggish performance, then all of a sudden the performance comes back.
You mentioned you have an ebay header, it is the stainless type, yes? What oxygen sensor are you running? Is it the stock 3 wire or a 4 wire Bosch? On your B13 you don't need a downstream/2nd O2 sensor. If you are running a B13 ecu program it doesn't use a 2nd O2 sensor.
I'm going to PM you my cell phone #, I'm in Orlando - over in Union Park, off East Colonial. I won't have time to play until next week (relatives are here to visit and wife has quick surgery this week). I'll let you try my ecu. We can play with turning off/on the knock sensor and other programs. I've got a Moates burner and a few VE programs.

Go with Kevo suggestion and get a consult program like Nissan Datascan. They are great for trouble shooting.
