Power is just not there?!?
I have recently done a VE sawp into my B13 and i feel as if there is something holding the motor back from making its true potential in power. I did the sawp myself so i know what was moddified and what hasnt been.

Mods that i have follow:
Mazworx ECU reflash
POS ebay Header
2.5inch GReddy cat back (no cat)
Custom Intake
JWT pop charger w/ n60 maf
DE distributor with new cap and rotor

As you can see its a very simple set up, i didnt have any problems with the swap starting and i have been driving the car everyday to and from work for about a month.

The problem is that the car feels like it is being held back. There must be something contributing to this limitation. I have check the TPS and it reads .52v and 4.08v with no dead spots in the sweep from closed throttle to WOT. An interesting thing is that when getting into the higher RPM band the exhuast will ignite leading to a "pop" out the back inbetween shifts, along with the an audible increase in the VVL switching with the car is in cold start, it also seems to make more low end torque wile in cold start also (but that just could be my butt dyno playing tricks on me).
The plugs all have decent color to them (all light brown) and i am using NGK iridiums. I have done a compression test and all four were at 255psi +\- 3psi. My timing is set to 17 degrees. I have checked for vac. leaks and found none.

Here are some of the potential causes to this problem but before i worry myself with them i was hoping someone here might be able to chime in and tell me if they would be worth my time looking into as a reason.
The coolent temp sensor was swapped from my Euro motor that was priviously in the car;
I am also not currently running a rear O2 sensor, nor is there one connected to the plug;
Lastly i shortened the knock sensor wire but was careful in making sure that the shield remained around the center wires and was sodered back together.

All in all the car feels rough, like the ECU wants or is pulling timing....? I have tuned cars in the past using AEM, Electromotive, MSS, and quite a few others. So I am fairly familiar with what makes them tick so to speak. Just looking for some intelligent opinions from the poeple that know these car and motors best. Thanks for your time.

What should timing be set at?

i use 13 or 15 but guess it depends on the final timing via ecu tuning

The ecu if just a simple reflash with new injector values and set for a N60. I'm not looking to set any records or anything as this is a gas saver/track day/toy, for me I would just like to figure out this problem as I know it is capable of more and in retrospec a motor running inefficently is usually detrimental, as it was designed to run efficently.
So, because of the simplicity of the reflash it is not "tunable" without a piggyback.
