a/c idle on VE
My idle drops real low when the compressor kicks in and then it fluctuates until the compressor kicks off.. Bad IACV?

see G Spec Performance
under VVL, look for IACV = $165.00. It sayd it must be ordered from japan, but Greg keeps them in stock. I got mine in about a week.

If you have a lightened flywheel, its always going to fluctuate when the compressor kicks on/off, its annoying having a loud exhaust system and sitting at a red light the other cars around may think you're a racer revving your engine just cause.lol

i have this same problem.. i've got an 11lb flywheel, but sometimes when the compressor kicks on it sounds SUPER LOUD, and Idle Fluctuates 3-500 rpms up and down for about 3 seconds.

Something i've always wondered, can you Wire the FICD valve wrong?? in my b13 there was a blue wire and a black, if i'm not mistaken.. on the VE FICD plug/pigtail there was one matching color, which was the blue i think. I just spliced the matching, 1 color, plug and spliced the other 2 odd color wires...??? Might have we made the mistake here???

^ well its just a DC solenoid. An electromagnetic coil and ferrous pin. So, even if its wired backwards, it should still work. Right? Sure, the magnetic polarity would be reversed, but it would still attract the pin when current is introduced.

I had zero issues with the AC on my P10 w/VE. 8.5lb Fidanza and all. Something definitely isn't right.

Really! Well mine is not a issue, its only that when the compressor kicks in the idle jumps but quickly settles back down to its original rpms, with a 3 inch exhaust its noticeable at a red light. If yours doesnt fluctuate at all then then maybe I have a bad sensor, but even on all stock cars the compressor powering surge its noticeable.
