Clutch Issue..?
Hey guys, recently been seeing a problem with my clutch, i believe.

Whenever i shift normally from 1st to 2nd at about 6k or so, clutch feels ok. But when i do a Power shift from 1st to 2nd or from 2nd to 3rd it feels like i'm TURBO'd and Don't catch traction, pretty much like it's slipping..

Also, "sometimes" when i'm reversing or have it in 1st gear, ready to roll out somewhere or park my car, the pedal feels like it gets stuck, kind of close to the ground, and when i let it go and push it back down, it goes in fine..??

i've got an ALMOST NEW OEM Pressure plate, eBay 6puck sprung disc NEW, eBay 11lb flywheel..

I never had this problem when i had the Same Complete stock OEM setup in my DE, OEM Disc and pressure plate. IDK if the disc is causing this problem.?? also my mechanics here put the clutch kit in, so i don't know if it might be an install issue either, which i don't think it is but it could be..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The clutch pedal sticking problem is fixed 99% of the time by adjusting the clutch cable tighter.

The other problems could also be stemming from the maladjusted cable, or likely PEBWAC.

Hey Ben, so if my clutch cable is non adjusted properly i'll have the issue i stated above?? it only happens "occasionally" but also i've been seeing it alittle more consecutive when i HIGH REV SHIFT.

The clutch sticking to the floor problem is almost always a clutch cable set too long. That also can be combined with a less than fully lubricated clutch cable (usually means it is failing or will fail soon). The first problem you described is hard to diagnose because you haven't told us if it's your tires slipping, or if it is the clutch. If it's the clutch slipping, then adjusting the cable properly can help there a bit. However, why you're power shifting and expecting good things to happen is beyond me.

The fact that this problem didn't happen on your DE just tells me that now you finally have enough torque to overwhelm the clutch while doing power shifts (or your wheels are actually spinning). A clutch can only put up with so much.

Simple solution. Stop power shifting.

LOL, i love your solution. But when a little honda wants to step up and race me, i don't want to hold back, also i wouldn't wan't to have this problem on the 1/4 mi..

So i've got excellent thread eagle f1 gs-d3 tires, but the problem that happens is occasional. The thing is that i've just noticed this problem Now, than before.. Before i did 1 or 2 power shifts and it felt wonderful! I know it's a clutch problem tho, almost feels like something is sticking (pressure plate) and of course, not working properly.. It not only happens durring power shifting, but also when i first put it in 1st or reverse, or pulling from a dead stop.

Adjust that cable a bit shorter (tighter) and get back to us.

i'm talking about on a 1/4 mi.. Of course i'm not going to be Granny shifting when racing.. But what i'm getting to is that, it's not normal for it to be feeling like this..

Your right tho!

how are you power shifting?? not using the clutch pedal an just ripping the shifter to the next gear? or just not lifting the gas pedal but still using the clutch pedal?
