SR16ve head on SR20ve block
Hey,

Been contemplating about this setup so i searched the forum but came up empty handed so.....
Is it worth it? What are the gains? And would the SR20VE cams be a better option in the 16 head?

IIRC, they are identical. The SR16 cams will make more power over the 20VE cams. I personally wouldn't go for it unless it was an sr16ve N1 head.

I thought so. I made the speculation based on honda engines, seeing that b16 flows better than b20 blah blah blah (it's probably forbidden to speak of the "H" kind here lol) so i thought it would be the same with sr. Thanks for the feed back anyways

If you have a SR20VE and a spare SR16VE head just swap the cams

Am quite aware of this swap but am unaware of the gains.

if you have a complete sr20ve, dont waste, time, labour and a head gasket.

just swap the sr16ve cams. better mid and high end power. at least 5-7 more peak whp too

when my sr16ve lower end was damaged, i sold the head and just kept the cams

i really dont think there is any difference in head flow between sr16ve and sr20ve heads

if you just have the sr20ve lower half and a sr16ve head, then bolt them up...

with honda b series, the head flows are different and possibly change of compression when you bolt 2 different b series together. not so for the sr16/20ve series.

the colour of the font will let you know who this is from wj...

Hmmm i see... Its a budget build, so my best option would be to get both sr16 head and sr20ve block, which would work out to be lighter for my pocket..

nooooooooooo

get a sr20ve

where you gonna get sr16head?

and since you dont have the sr16ve head, just get n1 cams instead of sr16ve cams
