I know, at 4600-4800 feels smooth, at 5200 you could definetely notice the switch

The only dyno around is pretty expensive, about 300usd per hr, I'm getting a wideband first and after I install the SR16VE cams I have in the garage I'll be spending that much at the dyno

Dumb question but, are you guys crossing the line in 3rd gear?

I have been shifting at 7000-7200 and crossing in 4th gear.

I'm on stock cams, according to specs there's no power over 7000RPM

No credibility.
I'm not arguing what the nicest points are so if you READ what I posted its all telling my experiences with VVL engagement.

All stock as in no mods.. not as in ALL stock VEs.

Ok like I said.. thats what I've seen in my adventures. All of those cars are fast too.

LOL at some of the hate being spread. DEs arn't allowed to be fast? Too bad I can't post vids.

I would just hold it in 3rd to cross the finish line cause when you shift to 4th you fall out of your powerband and you don't want that crossing the line.

I guess street racing right?

I know a well done DE is able to walk on a VE, maybe a VE just like mine that is not tuned and runing freaking slow (for a VE)
