A few people fabbed them up so it turns down past the frame rail and in front of the transmission. I think that works pretty well.

I have the same idea...i believe that it can be used at a VE!! At Honda forums they speak about 5-6hp from this intake!!
snickers wrote a lot of stuff about intakes on ves if you go diging a bit

3" ebay "200sx se-r" cheapy intake with blox velocity stack after the n60 maf w/ k&n filter.. i think i need to shorten the setup a tad so i can run a bigger filter tho..

You might be able to use the secondary off a 90-93 honda accord cai but its only 2.75" again ebay.
