To the OP.

Stocker are good to handle 8-9k.

HOWEVER.

All parts fatigue, and if your head has been serviced your valve seat high will have been lifted up into the head. This will mean your seat close pressure will be lower. Combine say 5 lbs lower seat pressure with fatigued spring and all of a sudden your valve spring combo is out of harmonic strength and bouncing the valve off the seat at 8k rpm instead of 9k rpm.

If you have the opportunity, at the very least, shim the spring seat up. If you have the funds (and a wise option) is to throw in some supertech's. They cost around 220 for a spring set - and are as cost effective as doing the 16ve/20v spring combo. You will have around 90lb seat and about 170 opening - more than enough to stop valve bounce for 9krpm on N1.
