So why would it matter if you buy a GSpec pulley. You have to buy the spacer for a reason. I have both spacers at home and both pulleys too. I will check it out.

you could of just put a long screw driver or something similar in the #1 plug hole an turned the motor over by hand, then if the screw drivers all the way at the top see where the pointer is on the pulley an it will tell you if your pulley has slipped or not..

Okay i guess i should have added a little more info. I swapped pullies and the de one worked fine to let me set timing. So yes the VE crank had slipped. Set base timing and idle and i went out to see how much better the car would act compared to how it ran before. This is when i threw the belt off of the car.
Its not a big deal that i did so because, the car ran much better then it previously had. I will just stop by Mazworx tomorrow or Tuesday and grab a stock VE pulley they most likely have laying around the shop.

I wouldnt want to make a new mark on the old VE pulley because if it has slipped once then it will most likely slip again. I did however end up puitting the old VE pulley back on the car as not my timing is set using the DE pulley. Ill drive it like a normal human-being until i grab the new VE pulley.

Thanks to all you guys that gave me input on what might be the cause of the issue i was having. Its my first experience on the boards since the convention in Savannah Ga. ( i was that asshole that brought an STi to a SR20 meet.
Hopefully this will help someone else if they ever have a problem with the crank pulley as i did.

When you are using the misaligned pulley with a chip in it just to verify that the other pulley is defective, then yes 5k is way too high lol

Good info, I know all about being a black sheep at a convention, I drove a b12 awd ga16i powered wagon to one convention in nj, and did a nasty burnout at one in az. Must be nice to have Mazworx close by, wish I had some sort of Nissan place near by.
