Problems with Timing my fresh VE install
Ok well i just started my VE and i just put the dizzy strait up at 12 o'clock. Car fires and runs okay. I went to set timing with a light pulling the TPS and all and my ignition timing was at 32 degrees advance!!!!!!!!!! so I set my timing to 18 degrees and the car runs like @$$. Pops out the intake, no power, slow revving engine, its like the car is set at 0-5 degrees of timing. I went and bought a new dizzy cap and rotor and there is no change in performance.
I checked my compression in case something catastrophic happened and it was 255 at all four cylinders. So..... if anyone knows or has run into this problem before please let me know as i can go a dyno the car tomorrow if i get it running tonight.

thanks guys!

How did you put the car in timing mode?

Timing mode was :let fans kick on to disengage cold start probability, turn the car off, unplug TPS sensor, restart and rev car to 3000 + RPM 3 times: I know that it was in timing mode becasue it was holding a timing number without oscillation.
The ECU i am running is from Mazworx as he is local. Its a dual chip board with a set up for stock ve with n60 MAF. I know that its not the MAF as i have 2 of them and also tryed one off a buddies maxima.

thanks guys

Your crank pulley seperated if you are using a stock pulley, find a new one or use the gspec one. Either that or your exhaust cam is off. Should be the first suggestion though

What pulley are you using? If its a stock one it could have spun and your timing marks are off.

The stock DE pulley is on the UK motor still that work just as well correct? Man really didnt think of that or see anything in the searching that would have led to that. Well i guess tomorrow morning ill install the other pulley.
Are the stock VE pulleis that big of a POS? Seriously this motor cant have that many miles on it it was supper clean when i picked it up and its got from what i believe to have fantastic compression at 255 all the way across.

Well ill let you know how this goes

The amount of miles will have nothing to do with the pulley separating, it could have 1000 miles on it but it still would have sat in the weather at the importers letting the rubber deteriorate.
