While you're in there you could also consider a crank scraper.
DE oil pans are easy to find and work great. the VVL bottom oil pan is the same as the RR engines. I used the upper pan from my regular DE (lowport) so I didn't have to grind baffles away.

I think the main concern with the DET setup is the rod bolts stretching with higher miles. You see more and more spun rod bearings on these older setups and I am not positive the cause. But I've heard of rod bolt stretch.
I am running a GT3076r. I made about 320whp on 10psi with 8.5:1 compression. But running a tubular manifold on the VVL was the best decision I ever made. Look at some of my other threads.
