Can somebody tell me exactly what the compression will be if I put SR16VE pistons in my SR20VE? I've read all kinds of mixed information and confused myself even further by searching. Some people said 12.7:1 and others said 13.x:1. I also understand that SR16VE N1 pistons have deeper valve reliefs and yield a lower compression. Can anybody tell me what that compression would be in a SR20VE? What is the best option for a daily driver on pump gas?

SR16VE pistons 13.5 to 1

SR16VE n1 pistons 12.7 to 1

But andreas, in other post you said that those numbers where wrong... wasn't 12.5:1 with SR16VEs and 11.8:1 with N1s?

if you are tuned the compression doesnt really matter, as long as your fuel and timing maps are pretty square to the compression ratio along with running some high octane fuel you should be good. obviously there is a threshold as far as how much you would want compression ratios to be

No way the numbers you just posted are correct. It's closer to what Andreas posted above you. His numbers are not exact, but it's in the ballpark. You wont know exactly until you install the pistons and measure for your self because of different cc sizes, piston/wall clearance above the top ring, ect.

X2!!!

I've had mine with N1 pistons since Oct 08', no problems at all, daily driver and has been abused pretty good at the track and street

Did you do anything to the cyl walls before hand? Just scuff them up?
