Easiest fix for rod knock
I have been going back and forth on what i want to do with the VE i have with rod knock. I was thinking about doing a mile all motor build but keep going back and forth on the details. So as spring has now arrived i am getting excited about driving the car. So i am thinking about just getting this motor running for a summer or two until i can make up my mind and collect parts for the build.
So the question is:
What can i get away with. The motor ran ok besides the obvious rod knock. I assume i take motor apart and inspect the damage. If it is just one bearing do i get the crank and rod checked/machined and just use the appropriate bearing and be done? Or is there more i should do? I have never repaired a motor on this level before and would like some guidance.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
