that's interesting. Great thread. so i'ma stay on the stock springs then. all i ever wanted to run was sr16ve cams at the most cause i don't want the power at some dumb high rpm. but in a more usable area. and even if i get n1's it's still better as far as revs then the 20ve cams.

just pulled the head....guess what?....

It was the damn throttle screw!!!

the valve seats look good, and the valves too. my exhuast valve seals are leaking though. i'm borrowing the tool later this week to pull the springs. combustion chamber is beat up a lil but not bad. so i'm thinking clean up, new valve seals and put a new ve metal head gasket on then go. this happen at idle i guess thats why the valves aren't bent or broken.

Your better off taking the head to a machine shop and get the all the valves checked out. That damn throttle screw strikes again.

Question.
why do you sugest to get the all checked or you mean all on that cylinder?

I put light through the ports while it's on the table and no light shines threw. so it's sealing. I may lap the valve to be extra sure.

When mine ate the throttle screw it was more than one valve that got fubared. My friends car also ate the screw but I got it out of the motor without taking the head off. It sealed fine too but I knew something was wrong with it but he didn't pull the head and get the rest of the valves checked out. In the end the car ran for maybe 2 more weeks before something happened to the valves. He was been a tard about fixing it so I never got a chance to see what else fuked up because he sold the car and blamed me for telling him to buy the car lol.
