crudded exhaust valve stems, what do you think?
The VE runs strong but burns about a quart between changes. Here's what the stems look like. Any thoughts?

mine dont look anything like that an the ports are much cleaner and smoother..

whats with the orange crap? is that rust or silicone?

ummm somthing in cly 3 and 4 lookd chipped or broken in there?

It is carbon build-up breaking loose.

That head needs to be pulled and cleaned. Looks like valve stem seals are leaking some.

The chips are paper thin carbon deposits.

I was wondering about the stem seals as well. Gotta get it in the G20 and running for a month or two until I can attend to it. If anyone thought it would warrant pulling the motor, I'd deal with having no car and fix it while it's on the engine stand.
