Many people have tuned on E85. Keep in mind there is a lot more to it other than just pumping the gas. The fact that you can run more timing in the perfect world yields more power.

Don't think you'll see much difference on a stock block ve. But in a built motor with compression to complimnet the fuel sure.. ill be running e85 in my new set up here in a couple months.

Yeah its simmilar to just dumping in 110oct in the fact that you will need more timing just to get back to the power you made on pump gas, because its slower burn..

Correct

You wont make much "more power". You will simply have a more controlled fuel to burn your eninge on.

E85 has about 28% less energy gram per gram than regular petrol does. It also burns slower, so you need to ffeed more timing to gain back maximum torque.

The advantage is, you can push it overall a few more degrees earlier, without it detonating as the burn is generally consistent and sucks out cylinder temperatures.

Edit - our 98 here? Not sure what thats equivalent to in the states.

A guy who I know picked up 11 WHP switching from 92 octane on his K24 motor.

288 WHP on E85

277 WHP on 93 octane

If your engine makes best power far before your getting any knock then its not likely you'll pick up a ton of power. But if you are knock limited you will see awesome gains.

I have been running this for over a year now. It helps a lot as far as preventing detonation. During tuning my car saw 12.6 AFR at wide open throttle on 25psi of boost after 7500rpm because of fuel pressure dropping and never even gave a hickup but you will need to upgrade your fuel system to handle it. It works well but you need more of it to achive the benefits.
