I will run any turbo car on the street with a 307 N/A car.The only thing that will be able to keep up is a 500-550 whp car that is really setup to run on the street.Youtube Tubaso vs DRT Nitrous hatch.And you guys will have an idea how an allmotor car making over 300whp come of the line.On the street n/a all day.

Didn't think so. Lets compare apples to apples, and not to oranges.

A 300fwhp N/A Sentra will run exactly like a 400fwhp~450fwhp FI Sentra. You'll have ZERO traction in 1-3, and will hook in 4th on street tires. On slicks, you'll rip '60ft times so hard that you'll be worried about axles, and the torque will be there WAY before a FI Sentra.

This is NOTHING like a torqueless B20 VTEC Honda. Yes, even they have shitty torque figures. Showed the dyno graph to my buddy that's been tuning Honda's before either of us could afford a shitty CRX, and he was amazed.


No but ive seen what a close to 300whp na honda can run and how it runs on the street. Yes they spin but not near as bad as a 500whp turbo car on the street. There is a difference between spinning and just pounding the rev limiter spinning. lol. The n/a is not gonna have the torque a turbo car will have in the mid range. Sorry. I can launch on my two step building 5-6psi of boost and im already well above the peak torque the n/a car is making at any given time. Although on street tires on the street i would never launch on the two step. You saw the vid of how it went when i just did a little teaser launch off the two step. lol

Here was another big difference between my car and the b20 vtec on the 175 shot that i raced. He was on 225 bfg drag radials and lowered the tire pressure to 20psi while i waited at the line, did a huge burnout, i did none, and i was on my every day 205/50/15 falken zeix 912's at full pressure. And I still won. I was just relating to traction differences between an n/a and boosted car.

Like I said, I have no doubt these two 2.4's that have put up numbers soo far would probably beat me in a dig race on the street at my pump gas boost level. Again the n/a's are animals on the street. Thats why you see soo many vids of the n/a hondas taking on the big boosted hondas on the street. Hell even slicks vs slicks, because they stand a chance. Even slicks spin like crazy on the street with big hp turbo.

its just amazing seeing nissan NA this powerful, lets give them all the credit for the build...

The point is you can see a 300whp 10sec 1/4 mile N/A car It has to be on a VERYYYYYY LIGHTTTTT chassis not on a full trim chassis You can see a 10sec Turbo daily driver car with cold A/C, a simple sound system, P/S and everything that its not going to happen N/A

I haven't exactly been following along, but I've always wanted to overlay my 303 WHP turbo dyno onto a N/A engine making about the same power and now I have that chance.



I've always felt my graph had a very N/A like curve to it. Partially because I feel like I'm leaving a lot of low-end on the table. Finally now I can really compare. I'd love to see what this engine looks like on the dyno without the low lobes.

Obviously Mr.sentra_specv's engine has way more area under the curve where it counts with his super wide power band. He also has tons more low end (for around town? ).

Thanks for that overlay. My point is justified from your graph.

N/A vs. FI with equal power, and the N/A will crush it.

Cliff, if I were to plop in some cams, and somehow get the valvetrain to stay together at 9k rpm, and lower the boost down I'm pretty sure I'd have a top end pretty similar. But we're talking like 6 psi here (to mostly make up the difference in displacement). Obviously the more boost you run the harder it gets to compare the two.

What's really happening here is that 2.4L and revs are winning over 2.0L. There's no surprise there. Your typical 2.0L, 300 WHP turbo setup isn't going to even begin to compete because of the lack of displacement and revs which narrows that powerband quite a bit. A 300 WHP 2.4L turbo with revs could have a power band more suited for drag racing. But I guess that goes without saying, and isn't the point of the argument?

N/A gets bonuses for smooth, predictable delivery.

^I guess somebody needs to build a 92x92 / 2.4L 12.5:1 VE+T SC6262 and put it in a 4door B13

Didn't mean to imply anyone would be that crazy Marcus.
SC6262 is way overkill for 300 WHP though.
