Shifting into 4th? Gearing? Wow, just awesome. I have a question and I am hoping you can answer this here or via PM, what do you have the cam gears set to? What rpm is he lauching and shifting at? Once again, awesome

thats an awesome time considering the sr16 tranny

i always had it in my mind the shorter ratio advantage was offset by the need to change into 4th before the line, i thuoght longer stock de boxes on a build spec like this worked better

maybe not so much

Shorter gearing is basically same thing like upping power. Biggest Nissans disadvantage is long gearing...

i don't agree in the case of the 1/4 mile

if you have a ve engine making very good power from 6k rpm upwards and holding it til 9k say, using that nice wide powerband with longer stock de ratios will i think prove just as quick if not quicker than shorter ones where you have to shift to 4th just before the line.

maybe in non drag strip situations what you're saying is right.

thats how i see it anyway
